Just remember not all racers fabrication skills are the same . Someone installing a racing seat may not install it as well a a factory installed seat . Slow the cars down a little and move the more skilled drivers up a class.

Ok guys, think about what you are saying.
You want the top 1, 2, 5, 10 or whatever guys TO MOVE UP. Fine..
But if they have to move up the next year, that means they are going to have to beg, borrow or steal a car that meets mini-stock rules. Right??? So why didn't they just do that in the 1st place!!! The guy was running the 4-funs, because he can't afford a 50 dollar race seat and a decent cage, so why would he have the money to actaully build a race car the next year? what do you do then???? Not realistic, but it show my point on why you don't need a 4 fun class...
Ross if you want to race you're gonna do whatever you have to do. Saving a few grand over the off season should be attainable for anyone, if it isn't then you have other problems which you should be looking after. I had to wait until I was 33 years old to be in the financial position to race. Some weeks to be honest it's tough to run a TC with no cash sponsors. I would rather drive my TC with no firesuit (not that I would ever THINK about doing that) than a car with a stock fuel tank or a marine tank.
This isn't about affordability, it's about people wanting to race and put a beating on other competitors without spending any money. Just my opinion again.
And like you thunder, I waited untill I could afford it to get into it. I've been racing with no sponsor for grocery money...
There are few out at the track that don't work hard to be there, but its better to wait, like you did for example, than put a unsafe piece of crap on the track.. Thats why they should eliminate the 4-funs... Everyone's recomendations here, increase the car to the point of where it can pass for a mini-stock. Might not be fast, but you don't have to be fast to learn, you just have to be safe....
