Okay but if they are getting close to your regular four cylinder class someone is spending money...

I don't read the rules from other classes even with Barrie Speedway. That way I have the complete rule book for TC committed to memory.

I'm not cutting up that class Spencer, I just would not want to ever hear about something happening. I care about the sport as you well know, just the same as you do.

The Charger Division was initially a way to split the car count at BSW, however given that, it is also a division for someone interested in racing to get there feet wet. The pure stock 4's at BSW are very competitive, not to say that the chargers are not, but it is an entry level into racing, and just for the record, I believe last years charger champion was the only automatic in the division, so I really don't believe that being automatic or standand make any difference, set up of the car is probably far more important than the transmission.

The 4 fun division was intended to be low cost fun for people, problem is it has become too competitive and too fast for the safety standards set out when it began.

Tech with the division has been an issue and that is something that needs to be dealt with and safety does need to improve, whenever there has been an issue on the track in that class it has always been one of the fast cars involved.

I agree with what Spencer said, if they up the rules to RR specs the class is done.
I bet if Ralph was approached with some fashion of design for a very basic cage that was mandatory for the class that increased the level of safety it may not be a bad idea. Even if it was a bolt in deal.
It's a tough call, people want to win races and the class will continue to get faster, faster creates more problems with safety etc.
Personally I think Top 5 top 10 must move on each year, cars/drivers capable of running 17.5 - 18 sec laps should not be in that class.
It is great to see people start out in that division and show a lot of promise and then move up the following year.

Firesuits- a must. Especially in cars running with standard fuel tanks and most like cavaliers, sunfires etc...are prone to rotting out.

If the rules were tidied up, and some of the safety issues cleaned up I think we would still have a safe fun division for people to spin some laps, you wanna go fast, win every night spend the money and move up.
Maybe revamp the points system for 4 fun, get rid of the chase for the season and make it a nightly deal, put more emphasis on sportsmanship awards etc. at the end of the year?

Ok guys, think about what you are saying.

You want the top 1, 2, 5, 10 or whatever guys TO MOVE UP. Fine..

But if they have to move up the next year, that means they are going to have to beg, borrow or steal a car that meets mini-stock rules. Right??? So why didn't they just do that in the 1st place!!! The guy was running the 4-funs, because he can't afford a 50 dollar race seat and a decent cage, so why would he have the money to actaully build a race car the next year? what do you do then???? Not realistic, but it show my point on why you don't need a 4 fun class...

My opinion is if you take the car put in a four point cage, racing seat and remove the dash. Make fire suits mandatory, eliminate the stock gas tank rule. Now I would go with the rules currently in place, no H rated tires stuff like that keep the automatics, then maybe if a car gets quick enough move it up, everything is there, now they can camber, goto racing rims depending on the car stuff like that. You have tried to keep costs down in the division and now have started a way to move people up if there to quick or just want to move up on there own. I know automatic vs standard is gonna be rough but there is a weight break for being automatic.
