<snip>...and the fact that its just plain fun to race there.
I also have heard that said before, but without elaboration. Is it the track itself that's more fun to race on, the atmosphere...what is it exactly?
Curious to know.
Flamboro is fun for a couple of simple reasons. You can muscle a car around Flamboro.... Delaware is a momentum track..... things happen so fast at Flamboro...... you go real fast at Delaware. When you hit something at Flamboro you can usually continue...... when you hit something at Delaware your usually bent up quite badly. The atmosphere at Flamboro is a more laid back one ( ie. The Elliotts pre race poker game ) maybe thats because Im not in the points there.
Dont get me wrong I love them both, Delaware just needs some resurfacing issues addressed.
The reason I think not many Flamboro drivers donot make the drive to Delaware ( Fridays ) is why wreck your car friday when you run the next night ( Saturday at Flamboro ) these drivers are in a points race at there tracks like Delaware drivers are also. These tracks should come out with a common payoff pool (example Flamboro runs a 100 Late Model Special $3000.00 to win Delaware will be running a twin 75 ( 150 Laps ) with the winner getting $2500.00 to win ) Some drivers look at this and say if I can run 100 Laps for a chance to win $3000.00 at home why go to Delaware and have to race 50 extra laps to win $500.00 less money . This is what I mean where tracks have to come together and get this major problem solved. I f this is not solved then nobody wins and the fans get robbed of big fields of Late Models.

This seems to make sense....If not a common pool, at least keep both tracks on par with each other regarding weekly purses, rules and the like should suffice....Of course, that would require co-operation from Mr. Casale, which would almost kill a plan like that dead in the water...
Ok but isn't that the reason why there is the "weekend warrior series" offered by Lucas Oil? This way cars can travel to other tracks and still manage to gain points as part of the points fund and also experience the different short tracks around here.
