Would grinding rubber into the track help? (ie. dragging some of the used Hoosiers around for a couple of hours)
I think you will find that if they lay the syrup down properly and evenly it will work they are trying too use a fertilizer sprayer now and it does not spead evenly and i don't reallt think they are taking the time needed so it is done well.
They need to go up the track at least 2 and a half lanes from the cement pad then i think you will see guys be able to run out there.
Keep in mind this is not the fix but a patch to get through the year is not a bad idea grinding the bumps should help out some and appling the syrup properly should help for the rest of the year (they spray syrup on indoor events all the time and it helps)
The Arca trucks ran up a lane even when they were alone to get in the syrup because it was tacky which means it was working.
they need to grind the hole upper grove not just the bumps to make it better
Agreed up town, that would be great and will hopefully happen in time. Ultimately the whole track needs to be re-surfaced. But, grinding the bumps is a good start and hopefully a serviceable solution for the rest of the season.
I'm pleased to see the track attempting to address the problem.
what gets me a little ticked off is the fact that they are doing this with only 4 nights left in the season! so the guys that experimented and spent some money trying to get their cars to handle somewhat on the outside with the way the track was did all that for nothing! the guys in the top 5 in each division obviously have done their homework, so let them finish the year with the track the way it was when they started the season and then over the winter the track can make some improvements to the track and next year everyone is on the same page at the start of the season! just my 2 cents(and those are the last 2 cents I have) see ya friday!
