Howdy all. Quick report...sorry.
Stephen Richmond wins 1st ever SS in good style, making the pass on Dan Bugg, and holding off an agressive Jeremy Ouelette in the closing laps. And Richmond row was a little bit excited? You bet. Fun fun and huge congrats to the Richmond gang!
Missed the Mod finish, but I believe Shipway won. Great side by side battle between Cox and Watson, till Watson lost traction on the outside of turn 2 and spun, then got clobbered by McCullogh while he sat there.
Urlin takes the checkers in the LM feature. Bit of fireworks between Pearn and Lindsay...Lindsay reverting the the Scott Lindsay of old...gettin into Pearn and sending him into the frontstretch wall. Pearn got on mic and called Linday some choice names...immature being one of them. Delisle took 2nd and Sheridan takes 3rd.
OK...gotta go out now. maybe on later to rehash even more...but thats the gist of it.
Streeties were just starting when I left.
Later
interesting
Just some thoughts after sleeping:
Sat in turn one on a lawn chair for this one
Mark Watson caused his own demise, sure Jamie Cox did infact get into him to send him into a spin, but why he stood on the gas to create a smoke screen is beyond me. At Delaware, when getting turned by one of your other competitors, stand on the brake not the gas. David McCollogh had no place to go and made significant contact ending both of their nights.
Someone please tell Doug Stewart to hang it up and call it a career.
In chronicological order:
Heat Race:
-Nearly takes out Jamie Ramsey in turn four, Ramsey saves it
-Finishes the job as they enter turn one, spins his own team mate and nearly takes the entire field with him, Hooker almost t-boned him
I love how annoucers said "Team Canusa taking eachother out"
Feature : Stewart vs Kennedy
-Mid race on Backstraight,(Under Green) Steps on brake and brake checks Kennedy.
-Kennedy up to door entering turn one, in a passing manouver, Stewart up to his old tricks of coming from the top lane to the botton to block and chops of Kennedy
-Kennedy (now in front of him) Gets hit in the rear in every corner while trapped behind Tyler Brown
-Stewart finally pushes Kennedy hard enough to push Tyler Brown out of the way
And thats the stuff i actually saw after announcer mentions the two in s battler.
Other then that, good job to Jon Urlin. Stevn Richmond, and Paul Shipway! Shipway wins on his sponsoer night, that must have been special.
Going to Flamboro!
