Word in the pits is that there will be no more early practice for any one on friday's due to complaining on the internet. I sure hope the people who complain at least have an investment in the track and could possibly be bothered to make a phone call and ask instead of just whining on here. The flexibility the track offered in the free extra time was a great option for a team that had to fix a car due to major damage from the week before to iron out the little details that may have been missed in haste so now that issue can show up in the front row of the heat and possibly hurt other cars. Also struggling teams who couldn't afford to rent the track really really needed that time. Perhaps in hindsight the track could have been more open about this and maybe just put a limit on how many laps the teams could run but now no-one will have to worry about it.
early practise on race day was stopped at my home track because it was deemed unfair to those who had to work until 5:00pm. that was two years ago and we have had no problems since. we do get two five minute hot laps to shake the car out. Delaware track should be applauded for leveling the playing field for all teams.
If they are making a decision based on something they read on an internet forum, then it just goes to show how unprofessional the people running the track really are....thats just plain bush league and i realy hope they come to their senses.
