wow....we just got back from varney, love the place....it was great they got all the racing in, but honestly it was disappointing....
yep.....we got the whole night in but, make no mistake....our car counts are struggling to say the least.
We are considering drastic changes to help change this but, one thing is certain....the "8 car rule" has in fact been waived indefinately.
There is a good opportunity here for street stocks, thunder cars and late models that are tired of running for 10th on back. Come to Varney and have a shot at the top five.
What have you got to lose?
what is the 8 car rule?? for purse payout..
what is the 8 car rule?? for purse payout..
Yes...previously, a minimum of 8 cars had to start the feature in order to pay out starting from '1st place money' on down. If less than 8 started, the last place got 8th place money and it worked up from there. In other words, if only 6 cars started, the winner would end up with 3rd place money and then it would work down from there.
This is fairly standard practice although not a popular rule amognst drivers. Most tracks never have to worry about it because they always start at least 8 cars.
This season at Varney however, is a different story. We are in a rebuilding phase and trying to attract more cars. Waiving this rule is the first step; and there will be more changes to come in the next few weeks; in our attempts to increase our car count and the quality of our on-track product.
Thank you.
