Man I don't know why I bother watching this race over and over, as one wreck ruins the whole day of racing.

Too early in the race for so many racers being out and no chance at a win.

Oh well off to play the PS3

...ya know... tell me a year that Daytona 500 that HASN'T had a big wreck in it....

And we've had our fair share of big wrecks here in Ontario, let alone surviving a 500 mile race at a super speedway.

Did the tandem drafting make it more likely to have big pile ups? ... I don't think so. When they were all bunched up (like the 2001 Daytona 500 where Tony Stewart was airborne over several cars for over 300 feet) the chances a big wreck could happen was just as likely as it is with the tandem draft. Yes they had a record amount of cautions today. But not all were wreck related (several ECR and TRD motors let go) and some were single car events...

Racing is all about precision and estimation with a slice of unknown luck thrown in.

Today Earnhardt had already missed at least 4 different collisions before finally being collected on the back straightaway near the end. It simply wasn't meant to be.

If the Daytona 500 went caution free, I'd probably fall asleep faster than I already normally do. Today's was the first in a very long time that I watched the race from start to finish.

Unless im mistaken, but check again...Dale Jr did not get collected, he LOST IT on his own.  He turned to hard to avoid the wreck.  Say what you want, but when ur not on it, ur not on it....Jr aint on the ball.

He needed a PEP TALK omg before the duel race....anyone see that??  He has issues people, lack of confidence, in his fathers shadow, worried about performing bettter for Hendrick.  Maybe ill eath my words later in the year, but I doubt it.
