OK it's the "wake me at the end 500"
60 laps to go ::)
I"m with everybody else. I'm not a fan of tandem drafting. Today was ....interesting. I stunned myself by staying awake the whole race - and paying attention.
A few observations;
Big teams (Hendrick, Roush, Penske, Waltrip) are powerhouses that can be beat.
Spotters finally had to do some REAL work.
The race was in fact unpredictable.
The one really cool deal was watching youngster Bayne take the super classy Wood Brothers to victory lane.
Bayne went from Go-Karts, to Legends, by-passed Late Models straight into Hoosier Pro Cup and then direct to Nationwide ! Not since Lee Petty has a driver started his first Daytona 500 and won it.
I actually stood up and said " Wow - what a finish"....
Petty's really shouldn't be counted the same way, as this was the first race ever at Daytona International Speedway. So someone had to be the first as it was the first race there.

"Can't" really count ???
okey dokey....
CRO, your gonna see more and more of those big wrecks taking everyone out in these races early on to unfortunatly....
The bumpers keep the cars from LIFTING each other up, but not now you have a deal like with Kyle Bushes car today, where if the back bumper is has a wrikle in it, your gonna hook him and spin him eventually. It has happened all week down there.....push push push all day on a guy..............then boom, he spins for no apperent reason. THAT JUST GREAT!!! Random time bomb spinouts!
