I sometimes wonder how the racing insurance industry feels about a lot of folks who are in the pits that have absolutely nothing to do with the maintainance of one of the cars that are performing that night? I remember some American tracks I visited in the early 70s who only allowed a driver and two mechanics in the pits with each car. Cripes, now it's like a family picnic with everyone including the family dog.
Don't know whether to blame the promoter who for obvious reasons isn't going to turn down the extra money people offer him to sit closer to the cars. On the other hand, security, to keep folks away from the fences is non exisitent.
I don't blame the Insurance Industry. They are there to protect DRIVERS when they get hurt. Hopefully Spencer Lewis might add his 2 cents worth as he is in the insurance industry

Wonder if the police report will reach the Insurance Company????

Skating on thin ice my friend... You are dealing with a parasitical industry which will use any excuse in the books to rip you off for more money. I'm sure you already know this from your policies like auto.

Problems of this nature are better handled in house. If the track is a danger take it up with management. If they don't care, protect your own butt and run another track.

Last thing we need is to loss a track because of an greedy insurance company raising the rates.

In a day in age where we are anal about safety, such that most companies required full personal protective equipment and fall arrest to change a light bulb, our sport which is very dangerous stands out like a sore thumb. DO NOT ATTRACT THE ATTENTION OF THE WRONG PEOPLE.

Are you serious?  The Shaw teams themselves have been standing in almost that same spot for the last 15 years.  Imagine if one of them was hurt by Dale's car.  You are worried that the Insurance Company will somehow screw things up?

If you want to worry about someone screwing something, look at Casale's running of that track and the lack of a secure fence or enforcing that ppl don't stand on the wall.  I believe there is only really one Insurer left for Race Tracks (K&K out of the States) as no one want to touch them.

Consider everyone fortunate that no one was killed, but, to see some monster under the bed in the form of the Insurance Company is completely insane and missing the point of the real problem.  Driver and Spectator safety.

turn one has billboards and fencing between them...people just step over or flatten the fencing down to get infront of the billboards...people have to use common sense as well...a fence wont stop parts or hot fluid from hitting you which has happened a few times too..and why would u stand in direct aim at the end of the straight away from a speeding car and not think that maybe just once one might not stop or turn...and if the insurance company inspects flamboro you can be sure other tracks will be affected...it isnt the only track with some bad fence...
