Cars regularly climb the wall at Flamboro as a result of the flawed wall design which has the walls plumb and not at 90 degrees to the banking. Quite frankly it is a miracle that this has not happened more often. Steve Laking took a wild ride on top of the wall last year.

Flamboro needs to do something immediately to protect spectators particularly on the pit side. It is clear that the catch fencing that is in place is totally inadequate. I shudder to think what the result could have been if this had happened coming off of two (where cars climb the wall often) and the car flew into the pitside stands.  Thank God no one was seriously injured.

I posted this elsewhere but I can't believe Flamboro's insurance carrier permits people to stand around the ends. It was an absolute miracle that no one was taken out. Maybe time for teams to ask for a copy of the policy. And I agree 100% re the walls being launching pads. They are not better than the tracks that use backfilled jersey barriers for walls (although in fairness, those tend to put cars on their sides). Wonder if the police report will reach the Insurance Company????

In a day in age where we are anal about safety, such that most companies required full personal protective equipment and fall arrest to change a light bulb,

You got that right! The MoL made us get rid of our 2' rolling platforms because they didn't have railings on them! Two foot freaking high....sigh. Sorry OT I know.

fence had signs for along time all along that section not to stand there but people keep taking them off or just iggy them..
octoberfest manyyyy year ago guy in a new nova hit same place and the hood flew off and clipped a guys head...luckily i saw it coming and pushes a few out of the way...from that ive learned to never stand at the end of a straight away...but racing is a bit like hockey, never stop watching as the action goes on....my first year watching at ohsweken i got hit in the leg with a chunk of clay so hard i was limping for a week, if i had got it in the face might have broke my nose...i never sit in the low section at dirt either...
