In regular qualifying you have to run a tank nearly full to pass weight. Also your left side % must be within the rules. This allows teams to run less weight more leftside and basically just run fast laps without worrying about the rules. They do their laps. Pull down pit road fuel the take wedge in out move weight ifnecessary then go through tech where their car will be impounded until the green.

Normal qualifying would prevent this as you would have to run within the rules and could not adjust your car

Ok, thanx shifty. The fog is starting to clear now. It will make things interesting for the teams for sure. Not sure about the fans unless you happen to have a head set to listen to John giving updates (hard to hear the speakers most times the cars are running) or you have a smart phone / laptop. But I still don't understand why they decided to go this way. Is this supposed to give back runners a chace at starting up front maybe? Sounds like a 10 minute practice session that counts. What do the teams think of this format? Maybe John can give his take (have'nt heard from him for a while).

well this sure is interesting isn't it? How much lead can you move or install in 7 or 8 minutes?? gear change? fuel up? so many things can be done, the crews are going to busy at this for sure. How are they going to police when the 10 minutes are up? If your not done at the ten minute mark what happens? Seems like an unnecessary change to the format IMO. Time trials are fine aren't they? Why try and reinvent the wheel?

Attn Delaware webmaster. You need to change the link to the race format for the Keystone 200. The link goes to the camping info page.

Whats wrong with lowercase? I can't take that seriously sorry. As for the procedure I personally don't like it as a fan, I love time trials (must love watching paint dry) but at least they are trying something new. And at least the race is proper!
