Its still only going to be only 1 or 2 car qualifying.....all taped up with stickers on that theyll be starting the race on = not running around wasting your stuff for 10 mins, the teams just have to set it up amongst themselves. Normal qualifying seems much better for the not as popular guys, showcases each cars sponsor much better.

So the track is open to 8 cars at a time but they don't all have to be out there simultaneously. That makes sense.

I've always been a fan of regular time trials, simply from a showmanship standpoint. You have 2 laps where the announcers can sum up who that driver is, where they're from, list the sponsors, and any other bits of info, in a setting where the crowd can actually hear because there's only one car on the stage.

On the other hand, kudos for trying something new. As long as they aren't dicking with the 200, I'm good. I'm just glad were done with the triple-100-invaders-vs-homers stuff they were doing before.

I would still be interested in the rational behind this. Is it to save time? Can't see that as 8 cars would time trial in less than 10 minutes. Perhaps a little drama builder as a car can go out, know they are junk, come in and work on it, go back out a do better. Might even have time do do that 2 or three times in 10 minutes.

The whole. Idea is that your car gets impounded after trials. So you go out for 3 mins bang off laps. Come in and in the next 7 switch your cars set up to race trim. Add your fuel do wedge etc. Once in the impund all you can do is tire pressures.

So how will this be different than regular qualifying if you can jack with your car until the 10 minute bell rings? What is the point? Maybe my blonde is showing today but I don't get it. Not saying this format is good or bad. Have to wait and see I guess.
