It costs too much for me to fly to europe so I don't
Snicker.... ;D ;D
Just want to point out that no ones trying to be snotty about it, but look...Delaware, and most other tracks, are pretty reasonable way to spend you entertainment buck every week. I won't break it all down, but its pretty good compared to the costs associated with the movies or other sporting events or whatever.
So, you can't fault them for charging good money for a big show. if its too much, then we'll see ya next week, and maybe you can check out what one of the other area tracks has to offer. Go watch Elliott, Howse and Shaw duke it out at Flammy, or watch Kirk Hooker do his thing on the dirt at Buxton. Road trips are good for the soul. (and they'll make ya appreciate Delaware a little more too)
my question is is the pit gate going to be more? and if it is are the weekly series getting more of a pay out at the end of the night? i know some drivers are racing friday and saturday and thats goin to be an expensive weekend just for pit gate.
Think price for one day show is good especially with the LM running on the Friday card with Trucks ,King Of Hill along with a 50 lap ISMA race.Think there is lots of racing for the dollar there. What I do question will the racing fans back a 2nd ISMA night show back to back. That is where the dollar comes into effect yes fans will go one night but probably not the other. Can see Friday card being well attended but Saturdays card seems could be light inracing.Nothing against SS they have great races and car count is great but modifieds are good to watch but car count is a big problem there as they draw maybe 10-12 cars not enough as these cars seem to break easy which means posible low count again for feature. To bad they could not of had a Super Friday show all classes ( LM,SS,Trucks,Modifieds) plus ISMA and make it Features only plus ISMA show (heats & feature). This I think it would make a good show.Heres hoping for a great weekend of racing but think price of one day show is good but a second show back to back I question can the racefan afford to attend both shows even with addmission specials.
you might remember some of my comments on another post. I went last year and bit the bullet and paid the $39.00 each for my wife and myself, but I definitely noticed that the Supers draw a much older crowd (I'm getting there) and a lot of the fans were there at the $25.00 senior rate. (edit: This year, the gap is $9.00) JMO-there shouldn't be a $14.00 gap between regular adult admission and senior admission. The modifieds are a weak support division (car count wise) and might be the division to get axed so the late models can run every week next season. They have pretty well floundered at every other track in Ontario that ran them.
Booking a double show sort of reminds of the way Ohsweken operates where after having a successful WOO sprint show, they seemed to get greedy and booked a double show. I figure a lot of fans will choose one or the other but not both.
And Delaware should remember than the ISMA dates come at the end of a hectic two weeks (which will be hard on the fans wallets). Ohsweken-two WOO sprint shows and a super late model show this week,
Merrittville Patriot Sprints Saturday. South Buxton UMP late models Saturday, Humberstone-two day show on the holiday weekend, Merrittville-Big Block Mod. tour race on the holiday Monday, and all the Asphalt specials-Sunset, Flamboro OSS tour on the second, etc.
Maybe if you're disgruntled with Delaware, it's time to take a trip down the road and take in a show at South Buxton.
Trouble is Delaware is a bit of an island with not a lot of other close alternatives like in Niagara so I guess they figure $39.00 is what the traffic will bear. Currently, at $16.00, it's the most expensive weekly show in the province. ISMA's poor car count at Cayuga (15 cars) might be a deciding factor also for some fans.
