I am not convinced that the Late Models are the best racing division at Delaware.  Seems to me that there are more caution flags than green lap runs and not too many of the cars are set up to run on the outside.  If you watch the trucks, modifieds and super stocks, all three divisions are doing more and more racing on the outside which is making for some great side by side racing week in and week out.

I am not sure any division would want to run every week.  Most of the racers have families and by having weeks off can plan for some vacation and family time.  This also allows some time for the teams to have a breather during the season.

A weekend pass is $59. Not totally out of line is it?

When you compare US racing to Canadian Racing, especially areas in the US where it's warmer you have to take two important factors into the equation.
1) shorter season - less time to get a whole seasons worth of revenue for the speedway.
2) 18% entertainment tax that goes straight to the government.  Not sure what the U.S. tracks pay, but my guess would be not much more than a State Sales Tax (PST) if at all.  So that $39 ticket is worth the same as a $32 ticket after taxes.

If you think it's too much don't go it's that simple. Delaware is in my mind the top facility in Ontario to see a race...period. The place does not run on good wishes and sunshine dust. Some fans (and drivers) want better racing and are pretty darn vocal vocal about it, but seem real reluctant to pat for it.
Try paying $100 bucks to race a JR. Latemodel at a JCAR show, or how about opening day being told you need to purchase a pit pass for an extra $25 per person, or paying $30 bucks each for your team to get in the pits cause the Hurricane Midgets are there.
Some tracks pull some pretty crafty moves on racers and fans allike but the price is the price. I think the Entertainment value is pretty good for what you're getting.
Oh BTW we paid over $1000 to go see the Trucks and Sprint Cup at Martinsville 😮

I'll jump in just for a moment to make sure everyone's on the same page.  To the best of my knowledge, each year since the ISMA cars have been here the ticket price has been $39.

This season is the first year where an advanced "earlybird" discount has been in place.  These discounts do bring the price of admission down for those who are willing to purchase tickets in advance.  Early bird pricing is available until this Friday (July 31, 2009) only, so for those who are planning on coming hop on this page and save a few dollars: http://www.delawarespeedway.com/2009ISMA.php.   Response has been very positive so far.

Included in your weekend pass is also the camping behind the back straight.

The ISMA Super Modifieds are a premium event and are the most powerful vehicles to visit our track each year.  This year, all of our NASCAR Whelen divisions are also running alongside as well as a Throne King's of the Hill Spectators race.  It will be an excellent weekend of racing.
