I had heard differently.. Apparently there's some sort of Nascar Whelen Series rule that any one track can only run 3 points races per week.. Thus what you might end up seeing is this past weeks feature counting, then Fri night will be the full program but with only 1 LLM feature not 2.. Then Sat night will be the entire program with double features once again.. So hense it will be 3 LLM features this coming weekend ( 1 make up from last night, then regular show Sat) .. I think there still waiting a word on just how many Whelen Series points races they can run per week hense the confusion... I also heard that Fri could be double features as well, but Fri nights features will only end up counting for Barrie home track points and not the Whelen Series.. One thing for certain... Its a mess I wouldnt want the chore of sorting out!!! 😉

Hi Everyone,
So, lets clear up some confusion.
Our entry signs clearly state our rain out policy. Seven races were not completed and therefore all General admission fans leaving were issued Rain Checks upon exiting the track through the main gate.

The drivers meeting could not be held until all cars were off the track and back in the pits and it was called to see if our drivers were interested in racing Friday night as well as Saturday night.

As most of the drivers thought that was a good idea we all agreed to race Friday night at 7:30pm. The only issue is that we have to check with Nascar as to how many features may be run within a 7 day period for the Nascar points fund. Depending on their answer it could change the program slightly. Whether the cars run for all point funds or just the barrie points fund. However you look at it, the drivers get to compete regardless.

Drivers were told to hold onto their wristbands for their rain check and I would assume that they passed that info onto their crews.

Yes it's a little confusing but if the rest of summer ends up as wet as this, we are going to need rain checks for the rain checks and remember Nascar has a cut off date for their points funds so we can't extend the season and make them up at too late a date.

We are very conscious of the amount of time, money and effort which our drivers and their crews spend to compete and would like to offer them the biggest bang their sponsors buck. If they want to race we will do our damndest to make it happen.

We will post on CRO as well as barriespeedway.com as soon as we get some answers from HQ, so keep an eye on both sites please.
