Ouch,hill3,sounds painful :o,glad you're still here...
Most racers worry about going faster before they think about safety. This is a common mistake in low budget racing imo. I've have some head on wrecks in my time, one which I was glad I had a Hutchinson's device on.
Gloves are a no brainer imo. What are you going to release your belts with, hit your fire bottle with or undo your window net with if your hands are burning. I no we all think were tougher than nails, or it won't happen to me. Its not if its when, but it only takes one time to regret a silly one or two hundred dollar expense.
safety first my friends. If I'm not mistaken we all do this as a hobby. If we were getting paid to race we wouldn't be having this conversation. We'd have everything the safety specialists had to offer.
At DS gloves are manditory I think.
The bottom line is we all want to go home safe and sound to our families after a night of racing.
Lets not wait for the tracks to tell us whats required to be safe, do the thinking for yourselves.
Be safe everyone.
Heck, even regarding the gloves, it's easier to gash your fingers or break them if something comes up from the track and hits you...
Full face helmet as well Mobil1. I dont know how many times I had stuff in my eyes before I wore a full face helmet.
