only problem holland landing is that we end up getting into the breaking of parts again once penalty weight gets added...to a 2500lb civic...how bout 2350 with a different left side %?

in theory you would assume the rule would work as it is because those little carburated CRX's only make 75hp....you would think that the weight break would make sense...

problem is when the stock 75hp good handling racecar keeps up with and or pulls a 108hp good handling car throws everything out of whack....and the debate begins.

bottom line is rules won't work if they aren't enforced.  we can come up with the perfect set of rules but they will only be as good as tech is thorough....

i would like to see barrie change the charger class over to a 16v class.
look at this years turn outs for the "a" class,
didnt have a regular car count.
with the 4cyl all together again we will have a good car count
let the "slower/new drivers" run their own heat or something.
i know a lot of sunset cars wanna come down to barrie,
and my car is a 16v and i dont really wanna spend money on
making it 12v.. and i deff dont wanna run at sunset.
i think if barrie did make this a class, they will see more local drivers come,
instead of driving all the the to sunset and other tracks.
and we they would see more money if thats what they are really worried about.

Cars must weigh 1 pound per CC plus 200lbs. plus any handicap with driver after any event. (Mustang 2300cc –2500lbs. min.) Cars with a 12 valve engine must weigh 1.1 pound per CC plus 200lbs. plus any handicap with driver after any event.
Cars with 16 valves - all Honda's (2000 cc max) 2500 lbs plus any handicap with driver after any event

If you keep repeating the same action you get the same result...

KD rules, 8 or 12V SOCH 1lb/cc
16 v soch - 2400 min, 1.15 lb/cc
16 v doch - 2500 min, 1.25 lb/cc

So the dominate cars are running over 2600 lbs, in Hondas and blowing everyone away.

1st the weight per CC means nothing. With the same number of valves equal displacement engines can range vastly in hp. Also the hp curve is far more important than the peak hp.

So back to the dyno. Record on the track the rpm range and time spent in that range for a lap at the track. Create a program for the dyno, so that the car is measured on a simulated lap of the course. Find the AVERAGE hp of the engine at all the rpms based on the time spent at each. Will give you a sum (for lack of a batter word) of the hp the given engine is able to produce on a lap. Weight the car as such, by some factor that will set the car in the upper 2,000 lbs range.

Lot of work, but any other method is just a guess (although actually testing the cars on the track would be a vast improvement) and will give the same result of dominate types of car for your class.

😮 when given the chance ross can put forth some interesting ideas ^^^^^
expensive and as time consuming as it is though i really dont see a track doing it. 🙁

how about leaving the charger class the way it is and allowing 16v in the "a" division that would make more sence to me. imho. ;D
