Guys...can we get back on track here. This is a great debate but, I may have to start another thread about the initial task at hand.

"crazyhorse", I trust you received my response to your email and we are back on civil terms here?

Just a few more thoughts

How did a simple discussion turn into a peeing for distance contest

Race tracks sell entertainment. They sell what fans want to see at a price they can afford. Promotors try to balance the show so it appeals to a broader group of people. There are no junk classes. This is why all these tracks are trying change up some of their shows. The big dollar classes have priced themselves outside what a weekly show can afford. This is why you need strong counts in a cheaper classes. The more cars the more people the more money there is to pay for large purses. Basically the four funs pay the late model purse. Please dont tee off on this comment. It s just one of the facts of race promoting.

All the tracks have poor car counts. This is called money or lack off. Very few people can afford to race at the level they are told is the minimum. So they stay home. You wont bring them back by calling  them names

The late models will hold their own. Teams find greener grass then discover that very few have that kind money. At that point they come home to race for fun. The mods are back. A little give and take on both sides would bring back a show that fans travel a long way to see. We need to work together and I think it will happen.

Standardized rules. This conversation has gone on for the 35 years I have been playing this sport. Prayer didnt help. Neither did begging. Tracks want to protect themselves and create the show to what they need. That is good promoting. Even the travelling shows have rules that cover all sorts of weird combinations.

One of those truths in racing is that everybody fast is cheating. I have been on both sides of story at the same time. Tech is always wrong. That is another truth in racing. Then why should tracks spend the time and money on it. Think about that for a whle.

One last thought. Why am I the only one thinking about the people who pay the bills. THE FANS IN THE STANDS....

I agree with you Les but, the whole point of this thread in the first place was to see if there was away to help boost car counts by adding 6cyl to the street stocks.

Increased car counts is out of consideration for the fans in the stands. That's the whole point. Every car we roll out onto the track is for the fans. Sure, the driver has an invested interest but, the fans want to see good races with lots of cars. Bottom line.

So....this thread is (or at least started out) FOR THE FANS IN THE STANDS....
