Well, the rumours have been confirmed. Varney Speedway has been sold to the Nuhn Auto Group. The Nuhns have already started working at the track on changes for 2012. Full details will be announced in the near future.
Congratulations to the Nuhn family on the purchase. Also a big thank you to the McLellan family for their involvement and stewardship of the track and their support of local stock car racing.
Seeing as Kent ran some dirt , I would like to see them rip out the asphalt and make a dirt track up here . It would sure be a change to racing in the area. Congrats to the Nuhn's whatever direction they take Varney Speedway.

I have been told there wasn't an official announcement about this.
Though I think it would have been the most opportune time for it.
This is the closest I have come yet to actually posting on here that it is a done deal but, as of the banquet on Saturday night, it appeared to be a foregone conclusion that the Nuhn's have taken over.
I still have not received official word and, I was assured by both Kent and Hugh that I would be kept in the loop so as to make an official announcement.
It's as close as it has ever been but, I'm still holding my card close as are the Nuhn's and the McLellans.
