I would have to think this will end up being Sunday racing. How else will you get the car counts. I will miss my Saturday nites though. It is a lot of fun to set up camp for a Saturday nite and get out of the house. Sunday racing in the summer can be a little hot though. One thing us 4 cylinder guys have to think about though is if we will be part of the program or moved to a Wednesday night like had been mentioned in the past.
I would of preferred to see more Sunday invitationals or at best one week a month of NO points and an invitational but it isn't my track. I can imagine that this will leave behind the slower cars as a guy running at the back of the pack can still end up in top 10 at then end of the year. For me I knew I wasn't in contention for the championship but instead I raced a buddy at the track for points. I was ahead of him mid season on and he closed out the season 4 points ahead of me in 5th place. That kind of fun will be gone.
dont forget that many people enjoy the banquet at the end of the year but with no points its not necessary anymore
wes didn't say anything last night about racing sundays so don't assume anything . also this is not something new , it has been done before and i believe it was wes who did it at sunset , so ask someone who raced there back in the time how it worked.
we always hear guys saying they would like a week off here and there , so wouldn't this type of racing suit them more ? i heard some rumours that mosport was going to do the same thing and that a drivers meeting is going to held to discuss things any truth to this ?
they had a rule where you could take a planned week off and still get a certain amount of points and wes threw that rule out the window.
I believe this same thing was done at Sauble. When they were having to many issues with points, and it worked out nicely. I think they only did it 1-3 seasons. I remember hearing something about that.. Any Sauble guys able to fill us in?
