If there are no points, it wont be that important to race that track every week...and if your say a Walters fan, you will be wondering where he'll be racing, if he is in a points race, you know he'll be there...if the payoffs are better at Sunset, we will see if money or championships are more important to some...and Wes will sure find out where the drivers allegiance is for sure, when it comes to a special at another track on the same day....but its actually what people want Cayuga to do around here, but on a Sunday when other pavement tracks arent running and only a few times a month...i cant see it everyweek, but it is a different idea.
I think he's trying to open it up to get a different group of cars there every night, instead of the regualar cars.
Big question is how many guys are points racers? Personally I am, and what would happen in the situation of the track not keeping points, I would keep "score" myself. Its not about the money at the end of the years, its about saying I've done better than you so far this year, you may have won last nights feature, but I've been top 5 all year, and except for your win you've been 15th all year... Really the same thing but with unoffical points.
Either way, I do respect him for doing it. If it works out, and Sunset become THE PLACE to run as a result, I might make the trip more often.
It's an intersting idea..not sure if it will work or not...but I'm excited to see how it turns out.
I assume sunset is going to be sundays next year?? this leads me to bealive it will be
No points?
Running on Sundays?
Oh God... whyyyyy!!!
I better win lots next year eh?
Or I'll just have to drive an extra half hour to somewhere with Points. =/ Lame!
Interesting philosophy of doing things, and this could work or may not work. I mean, it'll be interesting to see if he chooses to run Sundays or keep on a Saturday night, and then also how this truly works with how many people show up.
