if they make you register, that would be silly. Register for what? there are no points. The driver already pays along with his crew to get in the pits. that should be enough. I think Wes is thinking that with the thunder invitationals there was a good car count and the crowd was decent. But if you make it happen like this every night then it won't be so special all the time. Not sure if this is going to work out for him. But the payouts might help a bit as for the thundercars it's the best purse in the province I believe for a regular event.

I was listening to race time radio and Wes was on it and he was saying that hes not running points next year!...

So, do the regular drivers from Sunset have to listen to race time radio to find out what the plan is for next year?  I would hope the regular drivers would be notified through the website of these changes and not have to work with rumors.  It would just make sense to let these drivers know of the changes before the public.

I think the drivers will only find out what the scoop is during the
drivers meeting.
If I was a driver and I found out my home track is not racing for points any more I'd go to another track.
No points to me would mean nothing to shoot for, no goals to set
no motivation to show up every week, no rookie of the year, No
rooting intrest, no track champion, no drama for the fans, not
enough money to make it worth it for the drivers, no fun and
no point with out points.
Invitationals are fun but its like an All-Star game, the novelty might
wear off if its done every weekend and the drivers who care about
setting goals will go back to the race track that will give them more
of a sense of accomplishment at the end of the year.
Its human nature.
