The problem here is You can't find these old cars anymore!
I mean none of the manufactures make a rear wheel drive and if you find and old chevelle or malibu,Monte, etc they are rotten! they are 30 plus years old and most are gone for scrap. So what is the next step??? A tube Chassis!
This is not a Thunder Car Class it is an Old Challenger Class! the cars are not there anymore to build So Tube is the only way

I do agree, you can not find much out there to build with, so going tube chassis is probably what will have to happen to keep thunder/ super stocks around.
That being said, rules have to say, built on factory measurements only, that way existing parts you already have can bolt directly onto new chassis, keep them over top rear clip, no under slung, no less than 108 wheelbase and tech makes sure that rules are enforced as factory specs. pisses me off when i hear drivers in other divisions have to buy specific parts from specific chassis builders only. other than that, no reason it can not work.

There is no excuse for this tube BS other than McColl wants to take thunder drivers for a 50K/chassis run. $$$$$$$$ Remind me who is a sponsor of Sunset.

I can't believe that we are almost on the same page!

Mark, if the rumours are true about the new McColl chassis then please, for the SS & Thundercar divisions DON"T DO IT!
Yetti is right this time (lol) there are still a few good metric cars and chassis' around, you just have to look! But having said that I am all about "time is money" and if I were building a new car from scratch I would rather be working with a new, clean and ready to go chassis.

If you want a tube chassis car then make it completely the same measurements and pick up points as a metric car. No BS with camaro this or chevelle that, ALL METRIC! And funny enough you only have to go a couple miles south to get it. That way it's easy to maintain, easy to measure and there will be no bitching. Most guys can use all the parts they already have! The chassis from CSC will even help all the tech guys from all the tracks catch these other cars with all the relocated and modified pick up points.

thats my .02, Mark don't do it!

What about all the cars that are already racing at sunset that don't have tube clips? I'm ok with front load bolts, the fiberglass body rule is gay, headers, umm noooo, I think the only issue that needs addressing is the crate vs built weight rules. I think a built won one race all year and all the rest were crate. Something isn't right with that. Mark has an awesome field of super stocks, he should be listening to them, not Mccoll.

I am not sure where all this talk has come from but the only one of these chassis I have ever seen is the one at CSC that myself and all the race tracks went to look at so why does everyone want to jump to conclusions that have no depth what so ever as I said there  will never be one builder of anything.
