Ladies and Gentlemen, (first of all lets forget all of the past).
And let us focus on the here and now.
MR. Mark Dilly has transformed a gravel pit into a NASCAR track.
I know that his partner Lynda has been a great part of this great transformation, and she also needs to be shown appreciation.
But I for one would like to nominate Mike Dilly as PROMOTER OF THE YEAR!!
PLEASE anyone wishing to vote for Mark, please do so he is a keeper!!
I thank you West for the kind words all I know is there will never be one builder of anything and all rule changes will be the drivers not me or Steve I want to make it that you can build a car for three years min as cheap as you can.
Mark
Kudos to Mark and all his staff who have made the track a success. Imho all the positive things that have happened since i've been attending there greatly outweigh any negatives.
Where do I vote?
Regardless of it being a big spender`s track you can not take away from the great shows that come out of that track, Mark and his staff have done a great job at Sunset, he would have my vote for sure!
He puts on a good show and runs a good track.
The rules coming out of Sunset leave something to be desired. McColl tube chassis for thunder? Great turn it into yet another 50K for a car division.
Sunset has been successful with car counts, but that is an abnormality for tracks in Ontario. While Sunset is able to keep their numbers up, primary from the big budget guys that don't bat an eye dropping more money, gravitating from their home tracks to where there are numbers.
Sunset sets the standard these days, and that standard is big dollar racing. He puts on a good show there, its great for them, and everything you said about him is correct Wes. My concern is the collateral damage, although that probably isn't his.
