Just thought I should point out that the scorers that do work at sunset are related to half of bentleys crew. I believe thats called a conflict of interest and it was evident last night when I looked up at the scoring booth and it was empty after tom got his spot back. Right call? Who knows, but there are definently some things that need to be adressed; What is an involved car? There needs to be a line drawn in the sand. If your involved your involved. Last night however, and intentional spin that was completly unprovoked thats a tough call. Thats why I watch and the starters call the race. Not an easy job I would imagine.
Conflict of interest my ass!!!! The Scorers DON"T make calls, they score the races and do it very well. They have worked as scorers for years at sunset and have even scored people that have been related to them and Have/Never put offical call between their job!!! As for them not being in the tower at the time, two of them smoke, so that was what they were doing and the Head scorer was Talking with the flag men and Mark, so maybe you should open your eyes a little more before opening your mouth on things you know nothing about!!!
so what was the red flag for. Cause talk after the races was the scorers were gonna walk out and quit if they left tom in second spot and they did so and thats why we had to have a 15 minute red flag on the speedway. is that not true?

I don't know if you've ever noticed but Mark doesn't walk around with a headset on ???. It takes time to find him when he is needed. The red flag was one so drivers could save fuel while staff had a chance to talk to Mark. I've been going to Sunset for over 15years now and I have never seen an involved car get to keep their position.

just the race before in the super stock lane zardo was an involved car when the 17 of roth spun out and lane got his spot bvack, justin holmes got his spot back in the mini stock race. at the begining of the year the 17 llm was involved in a wreck coming to the finish and was givien the win yes it was reversed a few days later but this was all decided at the track. thats just off the top of my head this year
Yes it has happened in the past.....ppl have gotten their spots back on different occasions and apparently for different reasons.......I too can name a few more that you have missed.
You must be new to Sunset as Tom Walters has been having obsenities screamed at him for years.....Do you really think he'd leave Sunset...........highly unlikely.....just saying he's been driving there for over 40 years now???
He's raced seasons at plenty of other tracks as well. Out of all of his championships he's still missing the Nascar Provincial Championship, he won at Barrie Speedway before but never when it has been Nascar sanctioned.
Honestly I don't care where he races. I realize he has run for different series championships etc......but ask him yourself his primary track for the last 40 years has been Sunset!!! My father use to drive him to the track back when it opened and I spent 18 years scoring at Sunset so I think I have a good idea what I'm talking about!!
I do agree though people in the stands need to control themselves.........as this is suppose to be a fun sport for all, lets face it tempers can flare and obviously they did that night.
Also as far as the scoring goes those ladies don't make the calls, never have to my knowledge. But I think if you have hired officials to make the calls then let them make it.....NOT MANAGEMENT!!!!
How can management know what is going on when they can't even be found to talk to???? If your starters can't make the appropriate calls then replace them!!! Just saying if I'm hired to do a job, I do the job not my boss!!
In all my years at the speedways I have NEVER seen a car get their spot back. "An involved car is an involved car" intentional or not shouldn't matter as it never has in the past. If that is truely the rule how can you change it????
