That despite some odd possibly hot tempered late decisions, tonight might be one of the best late model races, (actually all 3 classes delivered big) I have seen in a long time. I have believed for a while that Mike Bentley is one of, if not the, best drivers anywhere in Ontario. And I think for 99.9% of the time, he showed that tonight. I think Stompin Tom showed why he has 28 championships as well, that run back after being moved the first time was crazy good!
My only concern is this: With tracks so competitive, and car counts always a concern, is it really the best thing to stand at the fence and scream obscenities at a guy, like or hate him. I mean, no offense, and I mean absolutely no offense to other guys, but I am pretty sure its guys like Walters and Bentley and Cornelius that keep people on the edge of their seats, not the guys fightin for 13 and 14, and again, that's not a knock on the guys deeper in the field. To be rippin on a guy and slaggin him, I wonder if eventually that guy has enough and leaves. I think we already lost a great racer in Dwayne Baker last year. One of the big reasons I love Sunset, and fork out 2-4 adult admissions every single race night is great car counts and great drivers, but if those car counts, and those drivers go somewhere else, I bet the fans do to!
I thought Tom raced real clean tonight, and I am sure he didn't make that late ruling from inside his car. I was quite shocked at the screaming, and some of the things being said at the end, and especially in front of alot of children.
Just my thoughts, I am a big Sunset fan, and ALOT of that is because of the likes of Tom Walters and Mike Bentley, etc!

LOL, Nice response friend, I wasn't aware Tom Walters was the new scorer at Sunset, and was making all the calls from his car while he raced. I'm impressed, obviously ::) Perhaps the screaming of the C word, among many others should be directed toward those making the calls, not the guy driving the car! 😛
I would also have to disagree with it being solely based on one call, it happens quite a bit more than that lol
Thanks for telling me I should know the rules though, I appreciate that ::) , perhaps while I apparently brush up on that, you could brush up on "Roles and Responsibilities of the driver while in his race car" I must have missed the rule that states all LLM drivers must also score and position cars while under caution..... Now I know why Jimmy Johnson has won so many championships, and all this time I thought they were just race car drivers... ??? lol
Think you missed my point on this one friend, if I were berated like that on a regular basis, I wonder how long before I find myself packing up and heading somewhere else, and I wonder... if all of a sudden another track has 17 LLM and the best drivers, and Sunset doesn't, where do the fans go ???

You must be new to Sunset as Tom Walters has been having obsenities screamed at him for years.....Do you really think he'd leave Sunset...........highly unlikely.....just saying he's been driving there for over 40 years now???
I also was at the race yesterday.....and I have to say......the behaviour of some of the "adults" in the stands was pathetic at best. IMHO Bentley is an up and coming Stompin Tom.......Mike's driving style is much like Tom Walters use to be in his younger years. Deb if you have been around 40 years, you would notice this. The only problem Bentley has is.............his temper!! That is why they call him ""Lights-Out Bentley"!! Mike has a great deal of talent and should he choose to manage his temper.....he could be a force to be reckoned with......but this will come in time. I am not a Bentley fan......but I do appreciate and respect talent.
