Were we not allowed to run a 9 inch last year, and I thought it was cheaper to buy a floater by a couple hundred buck

I thought that also, maybe cheater can show us where he come up with that?
This topic is great. I see most of your points here for sure. But we cannot go too far from the rules because it would lower the car counts for sure like at a few other tracks in Ontario. You want a good car count for competition and for the fans. The rules do need a little tweaking but not a whole lot. #1 on the list I feel is too lower the cost of tires. Bring in the Barrie tire. They are $35 cheaper each tire and they seem to work better then the Sunset tires used in 09'. Cutting the racers racing bill will make racing more competitive and it will bring in some new faces that want to race but have a lower budget. I would think that the 4412 should be allowed, not sure if they were allowed in 09' or not but I know that was a debate in the off season. Also 9" Rear ends for sure. Much safer in my opinion as the axles are much harder to break. Would save some money in the long run for sure and might save some wrecks from happening that don't need to happen. I don't think they should change the intake rules quite yet, or allow rebuildable shocks or anything else. If you want more adjustability then buy or build a late model. Yes the truth is if you want a decent Thundercar built from scratch under the current rules it's almost 20,000 to build a fairly competitive one. Who wants to spend more then that? You will kill the thundercar class if you go way beyone the rules all at once....Take it slow, make a couple of small changes the benefit the majority of the teams. If it ain't broken then don't fix it. I know people want all these new things to make it easier and more affordable, but it's not always the easiest thing for the majority of the drivers. Some of these issues should be voted on at the drivers meeting with the majority vote changing the rule for the 2010 season.
Also am a fan of the 602 even though we never ran one. If the majority of people had them, it would make teching a little bit easier. That's my take on the whole rule changing.....let's not kill the class, but I do see some of your points, but I am looking at it as a whole to keep the class going strong for the future....hope everybody can at least respect my opinion.
You make some great points there.Okay, hear me out,if someone is building a new car for this class, wouldnt you think that it would be the time to buy and install these upgrades people are talking about.2101 intake are $175 at the most, tons of used ones around, find a cast iron one, have it cleaned ur looking at $120-150,try and find the "canadian" one,you will pay more for it.
Its only a matter of time for Sunset to get caught up with most other tracks with their rules, sauble, flamboro, delaware and varney are allowing the 2101,but if you dont want to run one,its your choice!
I think Sunset dropped the bomb last year, but iam not holding that against them, because of the previous owner, with changing the rule to everyone must run 2bbl intakes, alot of racers were running 4 bbls, would of been the perfect time to just allow the 2101 then. 😮
2101 for sure, the only guys who would bitch about that are the guys who just spent 800 bones on a brezinski. manual trannys for sure, eliminates the oil downs and the cheated up powerglides. this is the flywheel number####, this is the clutch and pressure plate####'s and must be stock gm 3 spds. any cheating= loss of all points and no points for the rest of the season and $500 fine to come back! racecars have manual transmissions!!!! qa1's, i'm not throwing out 500 worth of shocks. if they were to just allow these i'd be happy!
Mr. prince from poland
How would allowing standard transmissions stop these so called "cheated up powerglides",iam sure if they allowed the standard tranny, you would still have the option of running the automatic, with a weight break. 😉
