The biggest wear and tear on any engine is the start up and the shut off, the reason for prelube systems.

lol, racing habits, that is the funniest line i ever heard. yes start up is hard on any motor, but do you not think that turning a crate past its intended rpm of 6400 rpm or a built motor past 7000 rpm is not hard on a motor for 30 laps let alone wanting to run 50 laps.

Where did I talk about RPM, after the dry engine start the damage if any is already there, and of course high RPM I do not think will eliminate it LOL.

not disagreeing with you, as stated before, yes start up is hard on a motor. no, you did not mention rpm, i did stating fact that longer races at high rpm would equal more wear on a motor. getting back on topic, i do not see where running longer features will make racing any better. gary36 summed it up the best, races of 50 laps or more are great for invitationals, leave regular saturday night features at 25 or 30 laps!

Instead of 50 how about a few nights a year of Twin-25's? Like at mid-season,end of season maybe a couple other nights.
