Looks like he did have the fender by Stewart's rear wheel in there.

Looks to me like "Tony Toyota" drove him down.  I am so not a fan of that guy!

It may be my biased eyes, and I'm not afraid to admit I have a bias, but Smith didn't have a fender on Stewart until he had already crossed the yellow line.
