NASCAR Licensed stickers/scrapbooking/window clings

I've started this thread in hopes of getting some feedback from the users of the site here.  Evan has approved it as I first asked if I could post it before placing it here, so please provide honest feedback on what I'm asking.  I work for a major sticker company here in Canada and currently we have a contract in house to be signed with NASCAR US and NASCAR Canada which would allow us to sell licensed NASCAR stickers/scrapbooking material and window clings.  Just to name a few of the products.

So what I'm wanting to know is would there be any interest for such products in relation to NASCAR Canada or NASCAR US drivers and teams if the product was appropriately priced and available in retail stores in the US?

Thanks in advance for those that view this thread and for the feedback provided.

You can make all the stickers you want for the NASCAR Canada Drivers, but I doubt very much that Billy Bob down in Alabama will ever buy any.
Hell their still buying Dale Jr. Clothing and Stickers with Budweiser on them, and they keep telling all their friends their getting great deals on JR's newest stuff !!

Merchandising NASCAR products in the USA and selling to the USA is a great money deal, but I just don't think the whole NASCAR Fan deal is great enough here in Canada to support the overhead costs and marketing tools needed to launch such a project, more so when your sales are focused on creating a market in the USA

If the NASCAR Canada image grows, and we start to get the same media coverage that the USA gives NASCAR (USA), then you could see something happen big time.
Tell TSN to get the Yard Dart Tournaments off the air and broadcast more on the NASCAR Canada deal- behind the scenes, in shop tours, media coverage before, during, and after a race.... then put your decals on the market.

In the old days, we had Speed Vision covering the Series, and every race was televised, both in Canada and the USA.
We had a great following on both sides of the Border, including believe it or not Mexico, but since they took the broadcasting away from Speed and moved it to TSN,
those poor Southern Fans probably don't even know of the existence of Nascar Canada.

If anything I would say sample the waters up here first, on a very small scale.
Maybe approach Canadian Tire or Home Hardware as retail outfits.
Another idea is to market that merchandise through the local race tracks across Canada that run the NASCAR Canada Series.
Even then, the margins will be pretty slim, but more approachable on the bottom line.
Good Luck !!

I would buy it if the price was good.

I find we don't have enough places selling them and the ones that do sell them for a lot as they know NASCAR fans in Canada will pay for them.

I for one would buy them....also if you are thinking of scrapbooking stickers, just racing in general, but not specific racers...my son races and I scrapbook alot and finding different stickers is hard and challenging!

I think according to what he wrote..he wants to make them available for retail in the USA.
That is why I am saying it would be a bad choice.
No one in the US is going to buy NASCAR Canada stuff.

If you are going to market Canada as well...Here is another angle for you Sticker Guy.

Why don't you make up decals for the NASCAR Canada Teams and give them to the Teams for free, based on them handing them out to friends..
Say 50 for each team showing their Car Number and Team Logo.
Once they start to get out and fans see them they will ask where to buy them.
Put your web site address on the decals as well.

You must work for Beyond Digital as they have a signed contract with NASCAR for all the Graphic and print/decal matter that is to be sold in conjunction with the title 'NASCAR' in Canada. If you don't work for them I would be contacting someone at B.D.I. and requesting the right to do them and sell them on the open market.
I could be wrong, but asking first is much cheaper then Legal Actions.
