You mean to tell me the Daytona Prototype wasn't the original COT? Go check your sportscar history again.
push ^^^^ ;D ;D
You know, given the rumblings of ISC and the like, I don't think short-term its about NASCAR going after series to kill them, but about playing a shell game in case ISC runs into trouble. Long-term, it's all about killing the IRL (hint: look at what classes Grand-Am also controls) after they did all the dirty work in getting NASCAR to where it is.
Well Longstreet we still have IndyCar Racing which kicks nascar butt. I am watching the race from ChicagoLand and its a sold out deal. These guys are running 3 wide- 2 and 3 rows deep- at an AVERAGE SPEED of 212MPH. Lets just hope nascar doesnt take an intreast in buying out the Indy Car deal and screwing that up as well.
Im with you Longstreet- nascar needs to step back and focus on what made them sucsessful...Stock Cars that mirrored what came out of a showroom and racing that ment door to door- not back door to back door!
LOL. NASCAR isn't interested in buying them out, they're interested in killing them. The Indy situation a month ago wasn't just about tires, but a warning shot from NASCAR across Tony George's bow that Daytona's calling the shots.
PS: The IRL is just like NASCAR - spec cars, a lack of talented drivers and manipulated races. It's like watching plate racing circa 2000 every week.
