unfortunately the only way your going to get good coverage of this series is you have to have a canadian broadcast company step up to the plate to cover it properly not use espn & espn2 to do it for them on race day. the only mention of the ncats series race or it even happening was on espn2 when d.j. & fitzpatrick were qualifying for the busch race after the fact the race was over. tsn was using there feed. such a big event for canada & the ncats series you would think tsn could have at least covered & aired our race the same day.
I don't think it is up to TSN to promote NCTS, its up to NCTS to promote itself. The web site is still unfinished. I don't see teams out promoting their sponsors between races. Only a few teams post news releases before or after a race. Only a few teams have their own web site. You have to be known to be newsworthy.
two points to ponder: is it possible that tsn tried to pre sell ad time for live events and it did not happen and there for lead tsn being unable to cover the production cost live, just a thought if it has any merit then logic states we have to go deeper for the problem, back to corpate canada. second point i felt that espn did a ok job wrt the ncts and covering the int'l flavour of the race.
The Toronto Star gave NCATS some good coverage today. http://www.thestar.com/article/243338
I..... Also I was so happy to see that RDS (the French version of TSN) was kind enough to air the race live for us race fans. Even with my limited understanding of French I was very impressed with the 2 commentators of the race and the great coverage they provided on the event. So if RDS could do it why couldn't TSN use their feed and have english commentator......
I thought someone posted elsewhere that the RDS broadcast was the Edmonton race , not Montreal.
