Hey Pincreast. You sure dont have to look real long at this site to find out who the **** really are and it is my guess that you are the President of the Club. Congradulations on the promotion.
Just for the record I * more about the rule changes, the lack of stuff deal, and the slow times it took to make this deal happen, and I did so in person, on the phone and even on web.
Am I at the top of NASCAR's list because I didnt bash them after the meeting- HELL NO !!
I went to the meeting expecting allot of BAD and it didnt happen... instead the meeting was all good and that is the reason I shut my mouth, quit * and took an entire new out look on the whole deal.
Is it perfect- not yet... but its a start and I think once the thing gets going it will becoime the very best Stock Car Series in CANADA, as it once was. As for your comments regarding the awards presentation in New York and the chance to race in the Allstar race, your wrong not to think this is a really big deal and just ask J.R. if that would have pumped up his Championship. I think Donny is one of the best drivers to every come out of Canada and his win record, championship records and the fact that he is still kicking at his age ( sorry Don, but you are getting older) is a remarkable piece of history. If Donny could have the oppertunitry to go to New York and race in the Allstar deal I gaurentee you with all that he has accomplished in racing, this would be the iceing on the cake.
The score is NASCAR 10- Pinecreast 0
Take that to your next ****** board of directors meeting.
P.S. Have a nice day !!
I am not even going to address the childish name calling or the horrific spelling other then my screen name is PINECREST not Pincreast as in PINECREST SPEEDWAY which was the most successfully run and highest paying race track in Canadian history.
Midamerica if you made your arguments to NASCAR as poorly as you have here I understand why you made no head way with them either. Amongst the many things you fail to realize is this is not NASCARs first foray into Canada it is their second attempt and the hand writing is on the wall for it to be a failure for many of the same reasons it failed the first time .
The old addage "those that don't know history are destined to repeat it" would seem to apply to you and to NASCAR . In 1975 NASCAR formed the NASCAR Canada Series which was poorly organized and poorly run , everything was very last minute (sound familiar) ? Except for the races they ran at Pinecrest the series was poorly attended and NASCAR packed up and left as quickly as they came .
I have been involved in series such as ASA ,ARTGO , ARCA, Busch North, Export A, USAC , CART to name a few over the years but I have NEVER seen a series that just a month out from their opener could not come up with what their race payouts or their points fund was. To answer another posters question I have never been a team owner but I don't believe any of the owners I worked for over the years would have had anything to do with a series that could not produce a payout or a points fund especially at this late date.
Your statement that "going to New York would have pumped up JRs championship" I find puzzling at best since the vast majority of sponsors will be Canadian and it will have little or no value to them and I don't know of any Canadian Tire stores in New York state or America. I have spoken to several racers in this area and all of them thought it was wrong that Canadian drivers racing in a Canadian series would have to travel to another country for their banquet and to accept their awards .
When you stated that NASCAR "controlled the meeting" I think that was a very accurate description as I see nothing the teams negotiated for them selves. How about guaranteed tow money pay out at the end of the year to any team that travels to all of the races ? Considering the tire bill to run the entire series will be in the vicinity of $ 20,000 how about some kind of discount after you have purchased over 10,000 worth of rubber from their single source supplier ? How about any kind of incentives at all ? Something I have learned over the years is if you don't negotiate it going in you will never get it later on .
There are several other points I would like to raise but our club is meeting to night and as president I cant be late ....Have a nice day.
Sorry about the spelling Mr. Pinecrest.
Let me just say that I agree with some of your points, but watch what you say when you think I was 'bought off' or something along thoses lines with regards to NASCAR. I changed my toon because they fixed my complaints, and obviousally they took a look at the impact the rule changes would have on the new series.
Do I know they made an attempt before in Canada- YES. Do I know the deal failed- YES.
Do I know that NASCAR has shut down other race venues after attempts to take them over- YES.
Do I think presenting a Racer an award in the USA is in question, when it is a Canadian award- NO.
The award that NASCAR hands out is an NASCAR award, so if they want to do the NASCAR awards show where there isint even a race track, so be it. Its the NASCAR Award show and it gets allot of attention and TV time which is great for the team and the driver, and the series.
Now if Canadian Tire wants to have the Canadian Tire award show and hand out the trophy's, then yes I agree it should be done here in Canada, but something tells me that it just wouldnt be as big a deal here in CANADA with the fact that Canada does not endorse autoracing in the media as well as the USA, and the fact that Canadian Tire, as the sposnor, deserves every bit of exposure they can get for stepping up and taking over the series buy endorsing thier good name on it.
Thats all... Im done....lets go on...see you at the track !!
Hmmmm....pass me the kool-aid...I'm sure just a sip or two..... ;D
