Now that we know what your role was Just I can understand your frustration and good for you for coming back on and clarifying and not just deleting your posts. I think that just because JR has the cash to build a car or cars to the full extent of the rules we shouldn't be dumping on him. He does a lot for grass roots racing and I can see the frustration in his posts. The rules are the rules and if someone can take advantage of that then so be it. The 44 has caused some stuff at Delaware also. Maybe too much car for him but everyone has to learn how to act both on and off the track and unfortunately sometimes that costs others money. Been that way since the first two cars were built and on the road at the same time. He isn't running a full season at Delaware not sure why. I can't comment on the Flammy incident since I wasn't there but at the end of the day in racing shit happens. As Schrader always says, both are at fault since they were on the track at the same time!
I should add that even seasoned professionals make boneheaded moves sometimes. Look at what Jacques Villenuve did at Road America.
well Ernie I know the easy way would be to delete that post but I like to think I am man enough to admit to something I said or did ..sorry is not a bad word what would I teach my kids if I can not admit to being wrong....JR was right if he says his car is built to Delaware rules then perhaps there could be a beef with Flammy Tech for not adding enough weight to Delly cars and others as well.....I did over hear a complaint with my ears that some one was mad at having to put 100pds (if I heard that part right) on a car after only going through pre tech I will not name this person but he is following this thread and can clarify this if he wishes but I believe a loose quote would be" this is the first time I ever had to add 100pds after going through just a pretech we are already heavy er than everyone else" so that being said they may not have been 100% right but there was an attempt by flammy tech to even the playin field and like Gary says next year if they do this thing again I am sure it will be a much better show
oh and I should add that we stayed and watched the show and I for one watched every lap with great interest and thought as far as the big picture goes it was a good show.....what a great concept that Flam my came up with....It can only get better hope to see it again!!
and if the interest that has been generated by the reader count on this thread is any kind of indicator I am sure we will if not at Flam my I am sure another track will grab this great Idea
I enjoyed the show. I'm sure they will make changes to improve it if they have it next year. I was OK with the admission price and found the staff to be very friendly. I was able to make to Delaware in time for the last practise session.
Just an idea for next year 3 stars 3 classes? One star for each of flamboros home classes could pack the pits and the stands?
There's a more thorough post, on the Message Board on our site
and the front page shows Kenny Schrader's car.
