Now that we know what your role was Just I can understand your frustration and good for you for coming back on and clarifying and not just deleting your posts. I think that just because JR has the cash to build a car or cars to the full extent of the rules we shouldn't be dumping on him. He does a lot for grass roots racing and I can see the frustration in his posts. The rules are the rules and if someone can take advantage of that then so be it. The 44 has caused some stuff at Delaware also. Maybe too much car for him but everyone has to learn how to act both on and off the track and unfortunately sometimes that costs others money. Been that way since the first two cars were built and on the road at the same time. He isn't running a full season at Delaware not sure why. I can't comment on the Flammy incident since I wasn't there but at the end of the day in racing shit happens. As Schrader always says, both are at fault since they were on the track at the same time!
I should add that even seasoned professionals make boneheaded moves sometimes. Look at what Jacques Villenuve did at Road America.
I don't know Gary Elliot personally. I've watched him race all over Ontario in just about every class there is.
Leave it to a veteran like Elliot to say things respectfully and offer good suggestions.
Thanks for posting, otherwise I don't think a real accounting of what happened at Flamboro would have been recognized or seen.
in referemce to scott's post...and ive probably mentioned this before, in the early challenger car days flammy was always behind in changing rules...the northern guys always seemed to want to spend money..first to go metric, first to go ford rearends, first to go race tires, first to go camaros, first to go load bolts, first to go fiberglass...they would come to octoberfest and most times kick ass...i remember every year at the flammy rules meetings there would be a few guys that wanted to do what the tracks up north were doing, mostly guys that ran invitationals and john casale would say "why do you guys want to spend more money?"...our 112 inch wheel base rule was still in place a number of years after the north had gone metric for an example...wish casale would allow 16vs in minis though...lol.
and how many guys build a thundercar on a jig?...wow that for me is hard to fathom that they have evolved to that...i only thought latemodels and up did that...so much for my level ground and 4 blocks the same height...lol.

The question might be, how many Thunder / SS cars are NOT built on a jig...
