narrow track + wide cars. I wonder how visitor Brandon White (LM 96) from Quebec liked the place???. Got to see the underside of his car too.
too bad about the fan attendance but I noted it was just the hardcore-a lot of spouses won't attend when it's this cold and the chance of wreckfests always seems to happen leading to long programs.
the tribute to Abel Castelein was well done and it was neat to see the Bailey/Castelein Mustang running in the feature
I pondered on other websites if the walls are the problem with the cars climbing them-they don't seem to be 90 degrees to the surface and act just like the jersey barrier walls at Delaware
I was really surprised Paul Howse's spotter didn't tell him to park it after the smoke started billowing for a few laps after he climbed the back straight wall. I was listening to Mark Watson's spotter and she was telling him to back off as the 8 was about to blow a tire and as soon as she said it, Paul got into the corner one wall hard.
I think the only way this show will ever be successful attendance wise is run it earlier in the year like mid Sept ahead of Sunset's show. It seems to have been hampered by weather for years and having to reschedule around Peterborough has never helped. Although I'm not a camper, I'm sure the restriction on camping likely hurts attendance too.

At least, Gary Elliott seemed pleased with the extra lighting in the corners

not being able to camp i think hurts it alot...a big part of the autumn colours experience seems to be the camping, and they kinda screwed that up this year i think with a number of racers unhappy having to camp away from the track, maybe they could give them first chance at a camping spots till a determined date...as for flammy, i really think if they are going to continue witha 2 day show they should run each class's show on one day...
example...pro lates, minis, pro 4's, modifieds and whoever on saturday and then thunders/ss, limited lates, hobbies and whoever on sunday...
still have a special 2 day ticket...but if they want more cars and fans they need to do something diff cuz what theyre doing now isnt working...

The new lighting was nice, and I told John it was long overdue, but that I appreciated it, it only took 5 years of complaining......Paul Howse has a damaged ACL but should be okay.....many racers tried to widen the straight aways at Flamboro by slamming, climbing or banging into the walls.  I hope, in less than 5 years, the track gets a major face lift, I think it could be the best track going once that needed addition is made, there's no room for wide fast cars to race or pass safely.

Still, lack of patience, and some outright unsportsmanlike racing in all classes was the root of most of the trouble.  I can't believe we out did Autumn Colors.

Special thanks to my crew and the other teams that helped us get out for the second feature, we got 5th, and to my son David and his team for winning Octoberfest.

I just finished watching the videos. I've never seen cars climb the walls so easily like they did  at this race. It seemed like as soon as the tire even touched the bottom 5 inches of the wall, up went the car in a real hurry ! Course it doesn't help when the car on the inside decides to keep his line straight and wind up pushing the car even farther. Why none of the drivers on the inside didn't pull away is beyond me...

I agree, looks like Flammy out did Autumn Colours by a country mile! It was sad to see so many cars run and so few fans in the stands. I agree with Mike that Flammy has to change the date to earlier in the year, it's just too cold for fans to sit that long at this time of year.

Nuts!!!

it could be july it wont matter that place doesnt draw...lots of cars no fans
