Not going to comment on the call as I wasn't there but as to the ticket/food issues...
Delaware has a flow probelm for both. Always has. I agree getting your tickets online is the way to go, or season pass, but not everyone can do that. The ticket booths, or pillboxes/machinegun nests, are part of the problem. The windows are at an awkward height and too small. There is no good way to leave the line once you get your ticket to get to the main gate especially if it is a busy night. People are constantly bumping into each other. The food lines are the same. The flow of people run into each other and since the beer shack went in there is a terrible pinch point even when the crowds are smaller. The people in the kitchen run their butts off but I can only feel sorry for them working in that heat and watching them run into each other. Again a flow problem inside the kitchen. Fixing both these problems is going to take time and money. Building site changes will have to be done for the long term success of the facility. Us die hard fans know the issues and put up with them. The casual fan not so much and that is who you need week to week to make the place pay. One thing that could be done as to food is get a couple vendors in turn 1 and 4 like a Sammy Solvlaki or something like that to take the pressure off the kitchen. Deals can be worked out for revenue sharing. Just a thought. Also when the ticket lines get backed up open up the VIP entrance and put a temporay booth at the turn 1 gate. Forget the printed tickets for purchases at the track and just get the people moving. People hate standing in line and the entrance to Delaware is not the most inviting facade. Yes there are many options for tickets and Delaware is very good using this internet thingy but if you make a bad first impression on the casual fan you have probably lost them for good. Just thinking out loud here.

This seems to be the types of problems food, and tickets at many various venues. I think what might be a solution is closed circuit TV
placed in some strategic spots. Monitors at the entrance and the food lines at the very least would keep you better in touch with what is going on and take some heat out of long waits. I think equipment these days is a lot cheaper than years ago a possibly some flash advertisements on it might help pay to maintain.
If McGuiltless is successful shutting down horse racing there may be some cheap equipment available.

Just a reply for Shadow, I have been showing up 10 mins before anthems for 20 years (not as the anthems are playing), and have never had a problem getting in on time.  If long lineups are the going to be the norm now, then I guess it is what it is.  Online is fine, if your in a position to plan ahead.

As for the Powell call, that might have been a bad call, I can agree with that, but I still didn't see Gresel do anything that required a 1 lap hold.  If he had punted him or something, I get it.

Simple solution for those that cant but their tickets online would be as mentioned above:

1. Add another ticket window at the VIP Entrance
2. Add another ticket window or two at the turn 1 entrance
3. Make a cash only line
4. If possible add more lines in general

As for the food lines... in my opinion thats life. Last night I had no issues because I timed it right when to go up and get food. It's just when everybody wants food at once there is an issue.

All in all kudos to the entire Delaware team/owners etc for making this an amazing season thus far. Car counts are fantastic, trucks could use a little help and enduros. Everything is moving in the right way, they will fix the outstanding issues.
