Tonight we said good-bye to the Street Stock division. It wasn't too tearful a good-bye though, because tonight we also said hello to the Peterbilt "Super Stock" division. I think it has a nice ring to it...and they ushered in the new name by putting on a helluva race!And congrats to Delaware management on scoring the new SS sponsor!You'll have to get the Challenger Truck results from the Delaware board. All I can really report is that Fothergill won, and that apparently the truck race was a real barn burner that left a few bent trucks in the pit area.Peterbilt Super StocksThe Peterbilt Super Stocks started with Darrell Lake grabbing the early lead, followed by Dan Monoghan in the orange Camaro. The race was yellow flagged early on when Duane Manning and Jeremy Ouellete got together going into turn one, with Ouellete getting a piece of the end of the pit road wall. The accident also collected Ray Morneau. Manning made it back out but (I believe) the other two did not. When the green flew again, Lake and Monaghan began to put a little distance between them and the second pack of Perkins, DJ Dejesus, and Scott Nagy.At the halfway point, Monaghan was right under Lake and pushing him hard. There was contact a couple of times, but still Lake managed to hold on.Further back, the 2 car of Chad Rijnen was moving up, picking off Nagy, then DeJesus. At the same time, Perkins got hooked up and within sight of the leaders. Monaghan tries high, tries low but can't get around Lake cleanly.In the last two laps, Perkins is right up there behind Monaghan but just didn't have enough time. Monaghan kept it clean and Lake manages to hold on for his first ever feature win.1st to Darrell Lake, 2nd to Monaghan, 3rd to Perkins, 4th to Rijnen, 5th to Nagy.Big celebration at the finish line as Darrell thanks everyone from Dad to Dave Lawrence, then hot-dogs it down the straightaway. Nice to see a first time winner. Congrats to the Lake clan on their win.Meanwhile, there's pit road p*ss off happening between the 88 car and someone else...might've been the 93 car. Lot of yack, but not much smack...not that I could see from where I was.Powerade ModifiedsFor the first half of the race, it was a three way battle between Starr, Newman, and Watson. Jamie Cox started further back and steadily reeled the leaders in, as Newman tries pretty much everything to get around Starr.By lap 18, Cox is up there, and the 4 of them race literally bumper to bumper. Newman is still pushing Starr hard. On the last lap, Cox manages to pull up alongside Watson but just can't quite get by. Starr manges to hang on to first and bring it home.1st to Starr, 2nd to Newman, 3rd to Watson, 4th to Cox, and a distant fifth to Dan Prudhomme. All in all it seemed to be a heck of a night. Wish I'd gotten to see more of the truck feature, but thats just not the way it worked out. And, by the way, I'm wondering who was actually behind the wheel of Truck number 33. (sweet looking truck by the way) On the Delaware site it says Sid McDonald, but I'd also heard that one of our fellow message-boarders would be driving it. How about it Gary?

I think the reason John can be delayed in picking it up is because he's to busy "sampling" the fries and cheeseburgers from the concessions ;D

Your real close on this one 33, he's actually digging into a Nachos Supreme (without the fake cheese) from the Mexicana Shack that has been secretly moved into the VIP lounge.

Your real close on this one 33, he's actually digging into a Nacos Supreme (without the fake cheese) from the Mexicana Shack that has been secretly moved into the VIP lounge.

I don't know that John is really eating while announcing. It's awful hard to talk with your mouth full.

Almost as hard as talking in the third person.
