I think what it means is that you can install on any car
BUT for cars with a 9" rear end you will have have to add some weight. "however only in in cases where they are installed on a full floating 9" rear end assembly, and will have a weight penalty applied"

yeah its confusing

9. For 2011, rear disc brakes will be allowed on any vehicle however only in cases where they are installed on a
full floating 9” rear end assembly, and will have a weight penalty applied.

What the hell does that mean ???? does that mean only 9" cars get rear brakes. If so it should read:
For 2011 cars equipped with a 9" rearend and full floater axles may be rear disk equip, however a weight penalty will apply ;D
Man it sounds like a lawyer wrote it

After a few pops and some discussion the my daughter asked why we are worried about something that is not going to happen until 2011?

I really don't see to much wrong with the rule, and when you look at the entire rule it makes sence to me.. that is after my daughter hit is all in the head with that observation..

Now the question is when someone wrecks, will they be allowed to upgrade to 2011 specs, or will they be forced to conform to the 2010 rules and then upgrade in 11?

The point I was making has nothing in fact to do with the year, it was merely to point out that it's really easy to misinterept was the meaning. Yes it's true we can clearly see the rule comes into effect for the 2011 season. But does "rear disc brakes will be allowed on any vehicle however only in cases where they are installed on a
full floating 9” rear end assembly" mean they are allowed on any car or only a car with a 9" and does the weight penalty to just 9's or rear disks on anything. Well I guess we can wait and see. ;D

looks pretty straight forward, discs allowed on any car with a floater, not legal on anything else, gotta run extra weight for a floater.
