Well the way I see it, it ain't going to happen so really the point of arguing it is kinda counter productive. So that being said I'm going to stick with our program

the other side of the coin on going to those saftey measure  is/are.....

back to:
treaded  radials
manifolds not headers
4412 carbs
stock bumpers front and rear
trunk, floor and wheel well sheet meatal
no rear spoilers
etc. etc.

If its all about safety, then there's no argument, slowing the lower classes down will accomplish more than almost anything else.
Well we're at it, the same reasoning says, there's no argument ,  safer barriers around the track.

There's plenty of ways to move most these racecars into a comfort zone, safetly wise, that doesn't cost the racers a bundle.

I didn't realize there was a safety issue, at least I never heard of any of the drivers, team owners or the crews even brought up any safety issue in the pit area except for one race where Silverthorn thought he was at Flamboro. I'd like to know where you think anyone can find a 2nd gen camaro that has a floor unless you want to purchase something that's going for thousands of dollars so I don't understand how your plan to save the racers a bundle will work. By putting in the original trunk I guess your going to install the OEM gas tank as well so I don't think that's very safe. Do you race or are you spectator?

ahhh crap. The specifics arent the point.  It was in reply to the question of saftey equipment and why not require all division to go to everything available.

My point was, and evidently poorly made, that if someone advocates every saftey upgrade available , then that implies they'd ask to have the cars slowed too. Slowing the cars down has a bigger impact on safety then any of the devices suggested.

We've had a culture of improving saftey at Delaware which is a good thing. But at the same time, rules packages have changed that have constantly increased the speed of the cars.

SpinDoctor, the floor was an example of replacement for weight gain. You don't even need a full tunnel now. The trunk - same thing. Superstocks run around without. Those are recent changes.
Of course I'm not suggesting stock tanks. Thats almost sounds like trolling??.

JWO , I personaly wasn't arguing, just making you aware of the other side of things. You've made a few suggestions of changes you'd like (in this and other threads) that come across as strictly performance based. They may seem like little things, but add them all up and you can increase the speed, increase the cost and decrease the saftey.

I'm a spectator.

I'd still like to know why you have a concern about safety as there none others who I know have an abundance of knowledge about building cars and are qualified to speak about the safety aspect of those cars. Another thing is that alot of those super stocks are built by the parents of the young men who drive them so if you think that those parents don't have the safety of their kids driving those cars as their first concern then you must think those parents are idiots and need guidance from spectators like yourself.
