That was including shopping! We went to 2 races Truck and Cup. Went shopping, went out for supper, it was a blast. The cost was $450 for each person based on quad occupency. The borderwas about 15-20 mins, We were enjoying adult beverages the minute we hit the road. Drive right up to the track is a bonus, go souvenier shoping dump your stuff in the bus, Tail gate party was a blast!!!! Doug was an awsome host. I'm telling you save a little take the wife and kids and go to Martinsville (in the fall ) and you will have blast

My dad, my 2 sisters and I were going to go to Daytona this past weekend, and our tickets alone for the NW, and cup races were $1300 and werent the greatest seats either, when my Dad has a single income we couldn't afford that. We thought that was rediculous, plus gas to drive to florida, a hotel, and food that would have been a $2500 vacation. We have priced going to Darlington this year and it is a little more reasonable than Daytona, $1000 for hotel and tickets to the NW and Cup race.

I think the television coverage is excellent on tv and prefer to watch most cup races that way unless I am in the action at the track. Last year, I had the opportunity to attend 5 cup races when we raced the day before and turned them down to watch them on tv.  I would much rather at the money and go to one of the high profile open wheel, or Super Late Model races instead and see some real racing on short tracks.

Next one is Bristol for me, then Pocono. I've been looking into Pocono, because it's cheap. Bristol, because it's just evil to see. I was on the surface there once, when no cars were on it. Just incredible to see.

i'm with wernham, best bang for your buck, hop over into michigan, ohio or indiana and watch some super late model racing, CRA, ASA or any other big LM show, don't even care to watch nascar on tv anymore.
