Maybe not as a forum moderator. But when the text is black I'm here as a race reporter. As a race reporter I simply call them as they happen...and those 2 numbers come up all the time in those reports. Although I have no idea where the 'shades' smiley came from. Sorry about that. Guess an (edited for hurt feelings) followed by a bracket gets you the smiley icon.

Guess I'll call up the national media and tell em' to take it easy on Dale jr too...because 'he's really trying his best.'  Sorry man...its a public stage they're on.

Sorry to rankle. if it makes you happy I'll delete it. The guys putting their cars back together every week don't need me to tell them which pinballs they have to dodge most of the time.

Ha, Shadow! Love it! Just keep calling it as you see it (including myself) We are all big boys (or girls) and should be able to take somebody's opinion without being upset over it. Keep doing what you are doing.

I'm really not trying to be a dork, and in lower rung divisions it might not even get a mention. But LM is supposed to be the epitome of racing at Delaware...its where you're supposed to end up after you've learned your chops - its not a training ground. Not in my opinion anyway.

Personally, I like the rule they use (or used to use) in Microsprnt racing. Cause X number of cautions (2 or 3 - I forget exactly) and you're out for the night. Its not a DQ and its not suspension worthy or anything they'll call you into a meeting over. Its just not your night - park the car, let the other guys race...and better luck to ya next week.

That'd probably fix a couple problems.

Then there's the other one I mentioned. I dont know what the deal is there but he seems to have a top 10 - maybe top 5 car. But he's like Wile-E-Coyote...too busy kicking his own ass to actually get anywhere. Except with him it seems less about talent, and more about anger management. If he'd quit getting into it with the other mid-fielders, he might actually start placing well.

Look at guys like Mat Box or even Dave Elliott. Maybe not the fastest guys on the track, but if you're watching close, they both finish consistently decent. (OK, Dave had a string of pretty crappy luck this year, but historically he's been a top 5 car just on the virtue of keeping his nose clean.)

I remember having a talk with 33-Grover earlier this year. He knows he's not gonna be knocking on Robblee's door right off the bat...but we did agree that if you keep it pointed the right direction and keep it out of other cars and the fence, and good things will happen sooner or later.

Yah but Jake won got his first checker!!!! and bested his finish for his career at Delaware!!!
And we couldn't have done it with out the help of the #28 team, they lent us a brake rotor after we had a failure in practice. Without them it would have been a scratch night.

I wouldn't delete anything.

If certain guys drive like they did in the last LM feature Friday night on July 7th and take out the drivers that people are paying to come see race then there will be a lot of unhappy campers at Delaware. People are going to want to see the Cup guys get beat by the local guys. Not wrecked. The last feature on Friday was (insert adjective here). I had moved from turn one to the main grandstand about a quarter way through and with every caution flag that flew another group of people got up and left. The looks on their faces was one of exasperation. Its too bad too because if the second feature was like the first one then everyone would walk away satisfied that they saw a great night of racing, which despite the carnage of the second feature I think we did but the impression you get left with is was happens last.
