Insane is more like it! Bad moon on the rise 😮
The first 50 was a pretty typical LM race. DJ Kennington was the class of the field and won the first race no contest. Lots of good battles through the field though. Robblee was going to have something for him at the end except he either thought he was going faster than he was and turned down too soon on the lap down car or the lap down car took him out. Don't know which as I just turned my head to watch a battle in turn 2 and the next thing you know the 28 is in the turn 3 wall backwards. Either way Robblee was out for the night. This pretty much will kill his championship chances because he didn't even start the second 50. I would have thought the he would have tried to get his car good enough to start or borrowed a car for one lap or driven the 51.
The SS feature was a sideways slider through the whole feature. A whole lotta rubbin going on through the race. Must of been because the bugs were bad and everyone had to look out their side windows 😉 Good battles throughout night with a pack running for the win and a second pack battling hard for the rest. Juice Box took a heat and looked good for the feature but couldn't quite get to the 9 and the 11. Congratulations to DJ DeJesus for his first ever feature win! Only 16 SS cars started ???
I actually enjoyed the modified feature. 12 cars took the green and finished with only one yellow and good side by side racing for a lot of the race. It was kinda sad last year when there was only 6 cars. At least 7 cars were competetive. Signs of good things to come for the modifieds I hope.
The last 50 lap LM feature was carnage. 28 cars started the first 50 and I think there was only 14 left at the end of the second. The inversion was 12 cars or more and an incident in turn two took out DJ Kennington and a few other cars before the first lap even got registered. The rest of the race didn't get any better. The bright spots of the race were Steve Richmond did a shakedown cruise in the 11 car and stayed out of trouble and finished the race. Steve did triple duty driving in all three divisions. Secondly Ron Sheridon put on a bit of a clinic as he got spun twice and had to make his way to the front three different times in order to take the win.
The full moon had a lot of power last night that's for sure 😮
The race included some very impressive saves as drivers running 5th through 12th clustered up like flies on a hotdog wrapper.
;D ;D ;D
Someones been going to the Shadowracer School of racing journalism. I just had to say kudos to Lisa with her reports. She's getting better every week.
Sounds like a nutty night and Im sorry to have missed it.
And I notice a DQ for 14-Emery. What happened there?
Great show for DJ DeJesus. I beleive he was telling me once the best way to get the 9 car in victory lane was to go to France again, as the only other time that car won was with someone else at the wheel.
And kudos to Ernie too for jumping on the race report bandwagon. I love it when there's other reports coming in too...and you do good ones.
Thanx Shadow. Looked for you again but never saw you after you were paged. Glad eveything is alright.
The 14 was in and out of the pits all night then the final time he came out he didn't even complete a lap and he was invloved in something coming out of turn 4. Payback maybe for something that happened earlier?
As for the 8 car.....I have a theory that he was jinxed the moment Rusty Wallace signed his car at CPT LOL!
One thing I forgot to mention. The 2 car took a huge hit into turn one after what looked like a rookie move by the 10X of Shepherd. Basically chopped him going into turn 1. At least that is what it looked like to me. May be doubtful if the 2 will be able to rebuild the car to get back for any races this year. Looked like he will need a whole new front end.
And after the back and forth about Watson here over the last week he did journeyman duty keeping his wounded car up front during the second feature. Anybody else notice which picture Delaware chose to put on the program this week :-X
I should add that I really don't blame the 10X for being a bit impatient with what he has gone through the last couple weeks but the 2 being what he is, a no budget team having students as his pit crew, surely didn't deserve to be on the receiveing end of that. Say what you want about the 2 team but I think it is pretty cool what they have accomplished over the last couple years.
