we're getting off topic here but in the picture, Bob Senneker 84, Bruce VanDyke 8, Jack Cook 82 and perhaps George Pringle's 28 first 4 inside row. Could be Earl Ross' 13 5th in line.
For all the publicity at Lake Erie, they only drew 1900 fans, but perhaps some fans are tired sitting through multiple support divisions before seeing the main attraction. It's in the heart of dirt slm country with Stateline, Eriez, Little Valley, and Speedway 7 (forget its' new name) all being close by. Where they have a problem too is they have a Hooters Cup race this coming Saturday. Two specials on two succesive Saturdays may be hard on the race fan's budget. Sad that MAARA is now basically Motordrome, Lake Erie, and Holland which doesn't even run late models any more. Lancaster, Adirondack and Jennerstown  basically baled. Noticed Todd Hoddick and a couple others who run Fords didn't support the MAARA show as they can't stop changing the rules for Ford or Dodge spec engines.
I was recently looking thru an old Pinecrest Program I have for the 1971 O'keefe 75 lap championship. $2000 to win with lap money ($5.00 per lap which sounds ludicrous by today's standards, but how many lm races today pay any lap money?). 2md was $1500, 3rd $1000 and then dropping off radically to where 11th to 22nd got $75 down to $50. Total purse was claimed to be $10,000 with the top 5 in time trials getting $100 down to $35. First five Americans got $100 each tow money-theres an idea that might be revived. The heats and consis actually paid something.
The fastest time trialer in 1970 Earl Ross had to start 22nd and won (he earned $2260 that year). Imagine fast time guaranteeing you start tail but I guess $100 meant something in 1970
(ps Holland have a 50 lap Lm race this Saturday and with Lancaster having no stock car racing this week and Lake Erie not having late models, the potential is there for a good show, but it looks like it only pays $1000 to win which seems paltry!)

True, it could be argued in many, many ways.  The real premise of my post was to show that $500 less to win doesn't translate into Delaware not paying the drivers as well as Flamboro.  You can see that the total purse is very similar and the breakdown by position is just personal preference.

So we're agreed that the 2 tracks are closer than initially thought. prize money-wise.

Looks like we are.  I'd like to know what racechaser44 thinks now...they seemed to be the person most convinced that Delaware needed to increase their payout based off knowledge only of the winning purse.

This segment Just My Opinion well here I go.First I have nothing
against either track ( Flamboro,Delaware ) I just asked a simple question why a track would pay $3000.00 to win a 100 Lap race
( Flamboro ) and another track pay $2500.00 for a 150 lap race (
Delaware ) and why I thought this is one of the reasons why Delaware Late Model count is down.If I am not mistaken this track had 24-28 cars for a regular feature 2 Yrs ago and this year
they (Delaware) are fighting to get 14 - 17 for a regular feature. There has to be a reason Flamboro draws 20 plus cars for a regular feature. As for the purse money for these 2 races yes the purse money is almost the same but the Big Payoff no.As a driver do you want to make want to attempt to win $3000.00 for a 100 lap race at your local track ( Flamboro) or drive 1 Hr each way to go to another track (Delaware ) and race for $2500.00  for 150 Laps. The logical answer is easy go where the big money is and with less laps.Remember as a owner or driver you want the Big Prise not the small one and if you can do it with less laps go for it.Remember it costs to fix these cars and the less laps mean possibly not wrecking but it does happen in 100 lap races also not just the long ones.As for Shadow Racer and Voice I am a big man and I can tell when there is a tag team on and it does not bug me.Can I say one thing Shadow Racer you made a statement at Delaware first special ( Part Source 140) sayiny that Flammy drivers were (weenies) for not showing up not to bright calling drivers that (Do not blame them for not coming tothis track ).Remember this track has lost alot of Late Model drivers in the Last couple of years( Robblee,  McGlynn,Patrick, Sheridan ( Part Time ),Weber, etc) for some reason. And that is JUST MY OPINION
