Many many ducks to get in a row. Why announce before they have their poop in a group. Why is it an issue would actual improvement keep you away? Its less of an issue than the late rule changes.

I spoke to the new ownership group and they state its due to the iffy weather.  As mentioned, the race track has many expenses, and if they bring in all the staff, and fire everything up, and then it rains...are you guys going to give them more money to recoup this?  Its business guys, they told us that.  Its may be a hobby for us racers, but its a business to them.  As the one guy mentioned, Walt I think his name is, without a racers there is no race track, but with no race track, no racers.  I am excited for the new season, but I don't think that a few weeks to a late start will be any problem at all.  Its getting hard these years, costs going up, jobs being cut.  These guys want to make it work, I genuinely believe them, and we all have to help support them and us.  Racing is a small family of people, and we need to keep that going, and make our family bigger.  They are trying as hard as they can to expand the program, what are WE doing to help them???

They did mention that if anyone wants to bring their cars to places to show them off, Home Depot, Rona, Mall, etc, they will donate free passes and such to thank you for your efforts.  I saw 3 or 4 cars at the carshow this weekend, and that brings awareness. We need more of that.  Haha track improvements on April 1st......yep a new lane in turn 3&4?  April fools....jeeze........

I'd like to hear it straight from the owners but they don't seem to be eager to say anything. I think that shows a lack of respect to the racing teams.

Hear what? Have you asked them?

They have a web site where they can post updates and I imagine they read theses threads or at least they ought to. Do they expect each of us to independently ask the same questions? It's incumbent upon the owners of tracks to put out press releases and bulletins to keep the interest going.....like this.. http://www.ohswekenspeedway.com/news/2012/020312.htm
