For Immediate Release

.  The schedule is available for viewing at the track's website: http://www.delawarespeedway.com .

After coming under new ownership at the end of the previous season, the speedway’s staff and new owners have been hard at work preparing the schedule for Delaware Speedway’s 61st season of racing.  The final results are a product of months of consultation with drivers and fans.  The schedule promises to deliver the continued high-quality racing events fans and competitors have come to expect of the historic track.

“There is definitely a lot to be excited about in this season’s schedule,” explained track PR director John Houghton.  “We have a strong weekly racing program, a great variety of touring divisions, as well as some big destination events that spectators will not want to miss.”

Super-Value Season Passes for the season are available for order immediately by contacting the speedway office.  For the first time ever season passes ordered before April 4 will have tickets bundled in a booklet for each event with pictures of vehicles that race at the track. These tickets are sure to be become collectible and treasured souvenirs of great nights of racing at Delaware Speedway.  Tickets for individual special events will be available in the coming weeks.

==Highlights Heading into 2012==

==The weekly racing program has been ramped up:==

- Fans getting more racing value for their dollar and local racers getting more time behind the wheel with no local race less than 35-laps.

- Many touring classes have been booked with our weekly divisions to showcase the best racing in Canada.

- More autograph sessions will added in 2012 to ensure spectators get more chances to meet and interact with the drivers.

- Each division has a special highlight race with the Trucks running on the same day as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, and the Super Stocks running a special twin 50’s format later in the season.

- King of the Hill Spectator’s Races are back, with some new twists and formats soon to be announced.

==Touring Series & Specials:==

- As well as the top-notch weekly racing programs, the speedway will again be having the best in travelling series at the speedway this year.

- The third annual APC Summer Showdown featuring NASCAR Superstars will be back on Wednesday, July 18.  Speedway officials are tight lipped as to which superstar driver (or drivers) are planning to participate, indicating an announcement will be made in the coming weeks.

- NASCAR Canadian Tire Series returns on Saturday, June 23.

- The world’s most powerful short track cars, the ISMA Super Modifieds, will light up the track for two nights, August 3 & 4.

- Vintage Modifieds are always popular at a historic track like Delaware Speedway.  They will run July 27.

- Provincial touring classes such as The Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup, OSCAAR Outlaw Late Models and OSCAAR Modifieds will bring their unique racing styles to the speedway.

- Two special four-cylinder racing series will be at the track for appearances.  The Open-Ontario Four-Cylinder Championship Invitational runs on Friday, July 6.  The F-4 Modifieds have a date scheduled for July 27.

- The Great Canadian Race Weekend promises a return to greatness for Late Model drivers throughout the province with the signature 200-lap invitational race returning to the Sunday of Labour Day Weekend.

==The speedway’s entry-level Enduro and Bone Stock series have a lot to look forward to this season as well, inviting new competitors to join in the fun:==

- Enduro drivers will see the addition of new formats which provide races within races between similar caliber vehicles.

- Friday night “Enduro Challenge” races are back and will have a separate points system for drivers and fans to track success.

- A program overhaul in the Bone Stocks makes the series even more accessible than before.  Rules have been simplified in their updated car preparation guide, also released at the same time as the schedule.

- The Bone Stocks will also run without pre-set obstacles.  Instead, disabled vehicles will be left on the track, as the track returns to Enduro-style races of the mid 90’s.

- Length of Bone Stock races will set based on how many drivers participate (ie 35 participants means a 35-lap race, 50 participants means a 50-lap race)

Can someone explain this part please.  Is there a chance for the Thomson 03 team who runs a stock EFI engine could actually win something.  Thanks
