the one thing i think we all miss here is that we have 2 distinct lanes at Delaware...the inside is cement, the outside is asphalt...the bottom has yrs of rubber ground into it,which gets better ..while the other, keeps getting polished...ever look at your fett while crossing into the pits in turn 2,how much rubber is layed down on the cement strip?..and how little the outside has left?...maybe we should clean up the inside, slow it down,...hill3...he was cheating..lol..want to know how?..lol

thats right i forgot the Crate was the saving grace for the now defunct ASA SLM a few years back!  LOL

You might want to do your research on the ASA Tour. It didn't fail because of the Vortec engines being used; in fact, it undertook a resurgence in car count during the late 90s-app. 2002 or so. The shift in ownership, series sponsorship issues, a shift in direction (ie. racing the 1.5-mile ovals) and the loss of live TNN coverage all worked to do it in. The races leading up to the last season of the ASA tour were very competitive, with several different winners and competitive races overall.

not fair mobil 1 i know you or mid and some other could answer i was hoping to open the yayas eyes that nothing happens in a vacuum and to think before throwing out blanket statements. right answer though, especially the tnn part. there was a time i would rather watch a asa race than a cup race. i have not seen a mike eddy or butch millar around for a long time. damn i miss that series.

Dunno about Mike Eddy, but Butch Miller pops up from time to time in ASA LM and some Berlin shows...
EDIT: If I recall correctly, the remnants of the Vortec program are now going towards the GN crate-engine program, but I could have misread that...
