it's a mustang standard with a 2.34 second.
i pulled the tranny today to swap the 2.34 for a 1.99 2nd transmission i have. i figured this, and a change from 74 inch roll-out tires to 82 inch tires i have would put me in the ballpark, i don't want to rev over 6000. thought i'd check the spare one to make sure and it turns out it obviously wasn't the stock one for the parts car it came with and it is actually the same ratio 2nd gear (wasn't supposed to be but oh well).
long story short, it will rev too high in 2nd (2.34) to last, and 1.4 3rd will likely let it rev below 4000. not enough.

so i put it back together. Guess i'll try 3rd and go looking for some smaller tires tomorrow at the wrecker. Not ideal but what the heck, at least i'll be out there.

or i could shift every lap. let's see, 4 shifts a lap, 200 laps, 800 shifts... maybe not...

Agree, shifting is not cool. I am having the same dilemma with my new ride. We will see, how it turns out 🙂  But 6000 is a safe bet for sure.
