I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with screw in ball-joints. I'm using it as an example JR. The dilemma were debating is cost effective changes to help improve the division. Does it take 3000 dollars or 6000 dollars to make an enduro into a Super Stock if somebody was considering moving up?. If we assumed $1500 for a body and lets say 1000 for frame upgrades and this number is just a wild as guess. that might leave $500 for other upgrades? to convert form enduro we will need allot of changes or building a car from scratch. anyway there are allot of ideas of cost floating around it would be good to get an idea of what it costs to build and existing car new one which ever path is chosen. The other changes that would be needed could quickly eat up 500 plus allot more. I'm just looking at my car trying to build it "backwards" to an enduro or similarly built car to see what changes are required. How much does it take to build a car from scratch. Some of the numbers here seem a little out of touch others maybe not so much.
In rereading this thread Sid's $1000 deal was awesome I only wish I would have taken him up on it at the time.
The whole "scope" on this was to explore the idea of the future of the division and where and how it could be strengthened.
NIce to see the delaware SS 76 team at sauble the other night.. they where #1 qualifies.. his car looked very equal with the flamboro
camaros..
How did he finish?
i think jeremy said he finished 14th
jim is making very good points but i wonder do we need to bring up the endero guys if they dont wish to my thaught is there is likely 10 to 15 if not more ss out there just sitting there moth balled i really think the gap between the top and the bottom of the field has and is getting to large and alot of the cars feel they cant compete and every change you make like screw in ball joints and such widens the gap when it is not neccesary at all the class is safe and fast now !!! .All we need is more cars for more competition these cars dont need any more advancements and if peaple think they do its time to move up the ladder and if you cant afford that then you need to be content and stop increasing the cost incrementally for those that allready cant compete.
